0-2 yesterday and now a frustrating little 1-4 run in the last 2 days has put me in the red for the first time in quite a while. Wednesday we had a 0.5 point loss with LSU then last night a 1 point loss with Cleveland State so while the results weren’t there it’s not like we’re getting blown out of the water here. Back in there today and maybe even we can get a close one to go our way. Here’s what I have….

Monmouth (-5.5): Manhattan comes into this one off a road OT win against lowly Marist on Tuesday night and I don’t like their chances to be able to back it up. That win on Tuesday was their first road win of the season and overall I feel their 7-7 record is mostly a product of the 273rd toughest schedule in the nation. The biggest problem for Manhattan has been on the offensive end where they rank 252nd in efficiency and that’s due mostly to the fact they are 343rd in turnover rate. They simply turn the ball over A TON. Their offense is no way good enough to absorb just giving away as many possessions as they do. Manhattan on the other hand is only 4-10 but they’ve done it against the 25th toughest schedule in the nation. This will only be their 3rd home game of the season so the road they’ve traveled is much tougher than what Manhattan has faced. Let’s not forget this is a Monmouth team that’s won 55 games over the last 2 years. They obviously won’t reach the high 20’s in wins this year but I do still think they’ll work their way towards the top of the MAAC and that it starts tonight back at home. Monmouth will look to play fast and wear down the Jaspers. Monmouth gets nearly 47% of their minutes from the bench which is the 2nd highest mark in the nation. They almost play it like a hockey team and just keep throwing fresh bodies at you. Only 2 players average over 23 minutes a game, while 11 average in double digits. I think a little home cooking is just what Monmouth needs to get back on track and that they win by 10-12 or so.

That’s it for tonight. Had a few others I liked but won’t press the issue
