Well I said a days ago that all hot streaks eventually end and unfortunately I was right. Saturday things cooled back down and regression caught up to me a bit. Overall nothing to complain about as the season numbers are still very solid and there’s plenty of hoops left this year. Over the course of a 5 month season you’ll hit some bumps in the road and that’s what happened yesterday. Anyways nothing to do but keep moving forward, here’s what I have today….

Indiana State (-4.5): Bradley really hasn’t done much of anything on the road this year so I don’t mind picking on them here. On the season they are 2-6 on the road and the two wins came against teams with an average Ken Pom rank of around 300. So for them to go into Indiana State and have a good showing seems pretty unlikely. I’ll admit that defensively the Braves are quite solid but offensively they are a complete mess. They rank 219th in offensive efficiency, 236th in effective FG %, and 295th in turnover rate. Brown leads the offense at 13 points per game but he’s a very inefficient player shooting at only 36% from the field. He’s a take 15 shots to get 13 points kind of guy. Thomas has been playing well lately and to me he’s emerged as Bradley’s best player. He’s a bit of a match up problem too. I’d imagine Davis will get a lot of time on him and I’ll admit that he’s slightly undersized. The other side of that coin for Thomas is that’s he’s not a go out there and get you 25 kind of guy. In fact he’s only gone over 15 points once this season, normally living in the 10-13 point range. So while yes he’s a nice player if he’s your biggest threat than that speaks volumes about your offense in general. The Sycamores have far more fire power and it starts in the back court with Barnes and Scott who combine for 32 points per game. I already mentioned Davis who is a nice 3rd option to compliment the back court duo and overall I just think Indiana State has more guys who can put the ball in the bucket. Not to over simplify things but sometimes basketball can be that easy. The Sycamores are only 10-11 but they’ve done a solid job at home where they are 7-3. I won’t act like I’m crazy about this ISU team but they are good enough to beat a Bradley squad that is severely challenged on offense and has done almost nothing on the road this season.

That’s it for today. Had a few other leans but nothing I liked enough to play other than Indiana State.
