Went 1-1-1 yesterday on my 3 plays which somehow didn’t post to Twitter. I had the write ups all done and everything posted to the site correctly but somehow never made it on to my twitter. Oh well no damage done with 1-1-1 day as anyone tailing would’ve dumped a 1/10th of a unit. Back in there today and here’s what I have….

Oakland (-4.5): Going to make a play on Oakland here as despite what the records say I think they are a bit better than 10-1 Towson. The Tigers lost their opener but since then have run off 10 straight wins. It’s worth noting however they’ve done it against the 231st toughest schedule in the nation. They’ve also only played two true road games so far this year going 1-1 in those. The win was against a Loyola MD team that’ll probably win about 7 or 8 games all year. Oakland is only 6-5 but at least they’ve tested themselves. They’ve only been at home for 4 of their 11 games (4-0 in those 4 by the way) and they’ve already faced Syracuse, Kansas and Michigan State. Granted those 3 were all losses it’s never a bad thing testing yourself against elite opponents. Under Kampe it’s business as usual for the Golden Grizzlies, they play fast and love to get out and run. This will be a tough test style wise for Towson who plays at the 284th fastest tempo in the country. As a team Towson has some pretty spiffy defensive numbers but I’m going to attribute most of that towards their weak schedule and poor opponents. Oakland is led by the trio of Nunn, (yes the Illinois transfer) Hayes and Walker who are combining for 62 points per game. It also doesn’t hurt that all 3 of them are seniors with plenty of experience. Frankly I just think that led by that duo Oakland has too much firepower for Towson to handle. Martin is Towson’s best player so far this year he’s been seeing pretty equal time divided up between the 1, 2 and 3 tonight I suspect he’ll see time against Nunn, Walker and Daniels as Kampe experiments to see who has the best luck shutting him down. After Martin there isn’t anyone on that roster who truly scares you and I already mentioned how Oakland has 3 players who can go off for 20 plus on any given night. Ultimately I think we’re looking at double digit win for the Golden Grizz.
