0-1 yesterday with the loser on Marquette. A frustrating loss as the main reason I took them was I expected Rowsey and Howard to both go off due to matchup issues for Purdue. Sure enough those two combined for 49 points on 16/30 from the field. Problem is nobody really came along to help them and Purdue flat out just couldn’t miss in the 2nd half. Oh well, we shake it off and move on. Here’s what I’ve got today…

Indiana (+11): It’s easy to fade Indiana right now. It’s easy to say “Seton Hall is good and Indiana got crushed at home by Indiana State. Seton Hell will kill them.” Yes it is true that Seton Hall will be a good team this year, and it’s also true Indiana likely doesn’t even make it to the NIT, I do however feel this line is inflated. In a weird way getting on the road might actually help this Hoosiers team. Get away from the distractions, pressure and media they see at home and just clear their heads on the road. Sometimes when things are going poorly a road game can be a blessing in disguise. With Johnson and Newkirk there is some Senior leadership that I think can keep this boat from tipping over. Two steady hands that have played in big games before and won’t be rattled in the least bit tonight. The main key when playing Seton Hall is not letting Delgado go off. He’s an animal down low and tonight the task of keeping him in check falls on Davis. Davis is a a big, strong, athletic kid who Indiana is hoping takes a nice leap forward this year. With Johnson and Newkirk I think they can actually compete with Rodriguez and Carrington. If Delgado goes nuts tonight 25 points/13 rebounds type of game then Seton Hall probably runs away but I think Archie is too smart to let that happen. They’ll double down as fit if he starts getting into a rhythm. Seton Hall isn’t the kind of team that’s going to light you up from deep. They don’t attempt a ton of 3’s and they don’t shoot it very well from out there when they do. If collapsing on Delgado a bit means open looks for Rodriguez, Powell and Carrington then so be it. I think we see a max effort showing from IU tonight as they look to show people they aren’t as bad as what they showed on opening night. I’m not saying they win the game but I do think they hang around.
