Padres +100: It’s that time again folks, it’s Pomeranz day. Before going a bit into Pomeranz I’ll start off by looking at Zona starter Archie Bradley. Bradley (granted in only 46 career IP so far) is looking like he might be one of those AAAA guys. What does that mean? A guy who is too good for AAA but not good enough for MLB. In those 46 IP Bradley has been very bad, his K rate has been really low, his BB rate has been incredibly high, and as a result both his ERA and xFIP have been awful. I won’t deny he has some nice talent but at least to this point he hasn’t shown anything close to an ability to do well at this level. On the other hand we have Pomeranz who is likely the Padres All Star representative this year. I’ll admit there has been some luck with Pomeranz and that 1.70 ERA. A .218 BABIP, 84.7% strand rate, and 6.4 HR/FB rate are all pretty lucky. That said his xFIP of 3.68 is still plenty respectable. I’m not here to say Pomeranz is Kershaw or anything, while the ERA is lucky that doesn’t mean he’s garbage. His 10.19 K/9 rate is one of the best in the league, and at this point I think he’s miles ahead of Archie Bradley. I’ll happily take him and Pads at even money.

Unfortunately that’s the only one I have time for to do a write up for today…

Here is the rest of the card:

Yankees -110
Indians +122
Angels -125
1st 5: Dodgers/Mets Un 3 (+110)
